When Our Lady appeared at Fatima, she chose to give her message of prayer and penance to three very young children. Jacinta’s Story is a book written for children similar in age to the young seers. This book is full of details and does not shy away from telling the complete story. The historical background to the events at Fatima, the family life of the three children, their meetings with the Angel of Portugal and Our Lady, the instructions to prayer and penance and their generous response to Our Lady’s requests for sacrifices for sinners.
It deals with the predictions about the course of World War I, the need for Russia to be converted, the vision of Hell, the difficulties the children faced with both family and the authorities and their faith and love of the beautiful Lady who appeared to them. It tells of their thoughts about God and heaven, the “miracle of the sun” and the illness and death of Francisco and Jacinta. Everything is retold simply but accurately. Children will find the story fascinating and exciting and will be inspired to make prayer and sacrifice a part of their own lives.
The story is told as if in Jacinta’s words and is fully illustrated with color pictures on every page. It is divided into short chapters, which will be appreciated if you are reading the story aloud.
